COLUMBIA — Missouri’s Amanda Renth was placed on the USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year Top-50 watch list Thursday, her second consecutive year on the list of players eligible for one of collegiate softball’s highest honors.
Renth, a senior from Mascoutah, Ill., finished 2007 with a .319 batting average and 14 home runs, a team-high. She also led the Tigers with 59 RBIs and has been named to the All-Big 12 Conference team three times.
The No. 21 Tigers will play in the Annual Black and Gold game Saturday in the Dan Devine Pavillion, and will open their season Feb. 8 against No. 15 Virginia Tech in the Florida International University Invitational in Miami.
