Ninth District U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof will begin his campaign for governor with a send-off rally at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Columbia Regional Airport.

The news conference and rally will be held in the airport’s conference room. Hulshof will then fly out of Columbia at 9 a.m. on his way to campaign events in Joplin and Springfield. Hulshof also plans mid-Missouri campaign appearances on Tuesday and Wednesday, his spokesman Scott Baker said.

Hulshof is one of three Republicans who are seeking the party’s nomination for governor since incumbent Matt Blunt declared he would not seek re-election. Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder and State Treasurer Sarah Steelman are also seeking the GOP nomination.
