COLUMBIA — MU women’s basketball assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Matt Daniel has accepted the head coaching job at the University of Central Arkansas and will be introduced at a news conference there at 2 p.m. Friday according to a release on UCA’s website.

Daniel will begin coaching UCA’s women’s basketball team next season, but he has left the Tigers to lead UCA’s recruiting efforts for the rest of the season.

Daniel was in the middle of his third season as a part of coach Cindy Stein’s staff and was lauded by Stein as an excellent recruiter. Last season’s class was ranked 25th and this season’s class 36th nationally by Blue Star Basketball.
