Two Columbia residents were injured early Friday afternoon after a two-car accident on Ballenger Road, police said.
Lanesha Rhodes, 23, was driving north on Ballenger Lane when she started to make a left turn onto Rice Road, then decided to turn right instead. Robin Harris, 49, was driving behind Rhodes and was unable to avoid hitting her vehicle during the attempted turn, said officer Curtis Perkins.
Rhodes and her passenger, Jermira Jones, 21, were both injured in the accident. Rhodes was taken to Boone Hospital and was later released. Jones was taken to University of Missouri Hospital; she was later listed in fair condition. Both Harris and the third passenger in Rhodes’ car, Heather Loveall, 28, were uninjured in the accident.
Rhodes was issued summons for careless and imprudent driving and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
