Police searching for shooting suspect

COLUMBIA — Police are looking for a suspect after an 18-year-old Columbia male came into a local emergency room early Saturday morning with a gunshot wound.

The victim said he was at a parking lot at 128 E. Nifong Blvd. when someone shot him in the leg, according to a police department news release. He did not know who shot him and possible witnesses had no further information about the incident.

Police said it appeared the victim would be admitted to the hospital for treatment, according to the release.
