Deposit bag stolen from gas station

COLUMBIA — A deposit bag containing $5,294 was stolen earlier this week from the Fast Lane gas station at 220 N. Tenth St., said Columbia police Capt. Mike Martin.

Martin said the theft occurred sometime between 10 a.m. Sunday, when the deposit bag was placed inside a desk drawer in the gas station’s office, and 5 p.m. Monday, when it was reported missing.

The incident is under investigation, Martin said.
