MU sophomore Paige Hansen wears an outfit collected from different vintage shops around
Columbia. Her boots are from New Beginning's Consignment Clothing, the shirt from Blackberry Exchange and the belt from Upscale Resale.

COLUMBIA — Finding great deals at vintage and consignment shops isn’t as tricky as it might seem. Vintage and consignment stores are abundant in Columbia, but people might think it’s time-consuming to shop them.

I wanted to give them a shot. I discovered I was able to find a great outfit, including boots, for less than $25.

Here’s what I found:

Best jewelry selection: Blackberry Exchange, 16 S. Ninth St.

Best place to find an authentic vintage piece: Absolute Vintage, 923 E. Broadway

Best prices: New Beginning Consignment Clothing, 7 S. Tenth St,

Best organization: Upscale Resale, 1729 W. Broadway

Most original clothing: Maude Vintage Clothing & Costumes, 810 E. Broadway

Best place to find a date outfit: Blackberry Exchange

Best costumes: Maude Vintage Clothing & Costumes

Best shoe selection: Maude Vintage Clothing & Costumes

Best customer service: New Beginning Consignment Clothing

Best place to find housewares and decorations: Upscale Resale
