Press release: Columbia Transit running on emergency weather schedule today

Thursday, February 21, 2008 | 12:04 p.m. CST; updated 10:25 a.m. CDT, Saturday, July 19, 2008

Editor's note: The following is an unedited press release from the city of Columbia regarding Columbia Transit routes.

The city of Columbia Public Works Department announces that Columbia Transit will run on the emergency snow schedule today due to inclement weather.

Columbia Transit switched to the emergency weather schedule this morning when it was determined to be unsafe due to an accumulation of sleet. Routes will be running on one-hour increments, rather than every 40 minutes and plan to stay on the emergency schedule throughout the day based on the predicted weather.

Citizens may call Columbia Transit at (573) 874-7282 for questions concerning the schedule change. Columbia Transit will return to the regular schedule when the streets are clear and passable and traffic returns to normal.
