PrintCOLUMBIA — Two pounds of marijuana were seized from a Columbia residence by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department this morning after two months of investigation resulted in the arrests of two people on suspicion of a drug-related charge.
Cedrick D. Jenkins, 33, and Kimberly Davis, 35, of the 2000 block of Arlene Drive were arrested at 6:20 a.m. on suspicion of one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, said Major Tom Reddin of the Sheriff’s Department. Two pounds of marijuana were found in the residence, along with other items associated with drug distribution.

Jenkins and Davis have been under investigation by drug enforcement agents for the past two months.
“This is what drug enforcement agents do,” Reddin said. “We develop information from informants and get as much of this stuff off the streets as we can.”
Detective Britt Shea of the Sheriff’s Department said drug busts like this occur weekly. According to Shea, two pounds of marijuana can be worth anywhere between $800 and $4,000, depending on the quality of the drug.
In 2001, Jenkins pleaded guilty to unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. He was released from the Missouri Department of Corrections in November of 2006 after serving five years of an eight-year sentence.
As of 5 p.m. today, Jenkins and Davis are being held at the Boone County Jail on $25,000 bail.
