Why I hate driving in Columbia

“Pedestrians. Around all three college campuses, they just walk into the middle of the street like they own the place. I am going to not slow down one of these days.”

— Julius Kershinske

“Whenever it rains, I can’t see where I’m going. Why doesn’t Columbia have reflective paint for the lines or reflective squares like they do on the highway? They really need to invest in that.”

— Mark Renken

“The cobblestone in East Campus. There are so many holes and bumps. It hurts my car every time I drive home.”

— Kathleen Gates

“People in Columbia think yellow means speed up and get into the intersection. There is no red-red pause, the lights just go red-green. So on short lights, you end up missing half your time to drive because opposing traffic is in your way.”

— Amber Fehrenbacher

“A lot of people didn’t seem to learn that you’re supposed to wave after I let you merge. That bothers me.”

— Geanie Butts
