COLUMBIA - Police were searching Tuesday night for two suspects in connection with a home invasion robbery.
At about 8:45 p.m., two men entered an apartment in the 2400 block of West Broadway through an unlocked door, the victims told police.
One brandished a dark-colored, large-caliber handgun. One suspect searched the apartment, while the other stayed with the occupants of the apartment, two 17-year old females, a 19-year-old male and a 22-year-old male. The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of money inside a box, said Columbia police Sgt. Barbara Buck.
Witnesses reported hearing one shot fired after the suspects exited, Buck said. No one was injured.
One suspect was described as a black male, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, large build, in his early 20s. He wore a black T-shirt, black jeans, black baseball hat and a dark bandana over the lower part of his face.
The other suspect was described as a black male, 6 feet tall, large build, in his early 20s, with braided hair. The victims described him as wearing the same clothes as the other suspect.
Police ask that anyone with information about the incident submit a tip on the CrimeStoppers Web site, 875tips.com for a reward of up to $1,500 if the information leads to an arrest.
