From Philip G. Peters Jr., executive director, First Chance for Children; chairman, Boone County Coordinating Board for Early Childhood Education

I hope that Columbians will join me in voting to re-elect Darin Preis to the Columbia Board of Education. Darin has spent his entire career serving children, first with Head Start and now on the School Board.

He always puts the children’s interests first. For the past five years, I have seen his dedication, hard work and good judgment in action. During that time, we have both served on several school district committees and on the board of First Chance for Children, an organization whose mission is to help all children, rich or poor, arrive at kindergarten with the skills they need to be successful.

Darin Preis is always a careful and respectful listener who is able to sees both sides of an issue. He also brings solid common sense to the table, along with the ability and courage to make hard decisions. We very much need Darin Preis on our school board.
