COLUMBIA — A high school senior who has signed to play for the Missouri women’s basketball team was named the 2007-08 Gatorade Kansas Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
Kendra Frazier, a center, averaged 24.9 points, 12.7 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game in her final season with Labette County High School (21-3). She also scored 44 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in one game versus Fort Scott.
In the classroom, Frazier earned a 4.15 grade-point-average.
The Gatorade Player of the Year award is given to student-athletes for athletic and academic performance as well as showing good character.
