Five MU track athletes earn All-America honors at indoor nationals

Five MU runners claimed achieved All-American Honors Saturday on the last day of the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayettville, Ark.

Sophomore Nick Adcock placed fourth in the men’s heptathalon, giving him his first All-America certificate. Adcock beat his personal best time in the 1000-meter run portion of the event by nearly two seconds with a time of 2:39.56.

Two Tigers claimed All-American honors in women’s shot put. Shernelle Nicholls grabbed her second All-American honor, placing sixth with a throw of 54-10 (16.71m), a new school record. Krishna Lee took 11th overall with a throw of 53-3 1/2 (16.24m).

In the men’s weight throw, junior Chris Rohr earned his third All-America honor. He placed eighth with a throw of 70-1/4 (21.34m).

Senior Trisa Nickoley earned her first All-America honor in the women’s 800 with a time of 2:06.69
