Letter: Sturtz’s energy, commitment will benefit City Council

March 17, 2008 | 1:03 p.m. CDT

Paul Sturtz, who is running for First Ward City Council seat will, I believe, represent this ward with the same kind of just, capable, well-informed and imaginative civic commitment he has applied to all his other work in Columbia, as founder and program director of Ragtag Cinema; founder and director of True/False Film Festival; founding member and board member of COLORS, a locally owned business network; founding member of Big Canoe, an inner city farm group; and co-founder of Friends of Stephens Lake, which led to creating a city park, to name only a few of his achievements. Paul’s energy, intelligence and dedication to the common good will contribute to all aspects of life in Ward 1 and beyond. For detailed information, see his Web site, paulforfirstward.com.

We are at a crucial time in our city’s history for planning and then moving ahead coherently toward building a healthy, creative and economically just community for all who live here. Now is the time to support Paul Sturtz for City Council.
