The Columbia Farmers’ Market is opening for the season tomorrow in the parking lot of the Activity and Recreation Center, 1701 W. Ash St.
It may seem early for fresh produce, but in addition to year-round goods like breads, honey, meats, cheeses and plants, there will be spinach, fresh mushrooms, grains and wheat grass.
The Easter Bunny will be there for opening day, as well as live music by Spanish guitarist Eco Gitano.
The Market features more than 60 vendors, all from within a 55-mile radius of Columbia. Vendors at the market only sell what they grow themselves, and many of them are certified organic.
The market will be open 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays through November. Monday and Wednesday evening hours will be added in May.
