Hobby Lobby toys recalled due to lead paint

COLUMBIA — Certain children’s Easter toys from Hobby Lobby stores are being recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, according to a press release from the Missouri attorney general’s office.

Because of dangerously high amounts of lead in the paint of the Chinese-made toys, 13,000 Camouflage Eggs and Spinning Egg Top Toys were voluntarily recalled Friday. It is recommended that consumers immediately take the toys away from children. Consumers may call Hobby Lobby to receive an exchange card for use on other products, the release stated.

The toys have been on Hobby Lobby’s shelves since January 2008. In Boone County, there is one Hobby Lobby store in Columbia, at 2001 W. Worley St., and one in Jefferson City, at 2235 Missouri Blvd.

A complete list of recalled toys and other products can be found at the Missouri Attorney General’s Web site at ago.mo.gov.
