Missouri gymnastics team places third in Big 12 Championships

The Tigers finished third at the Big 12 Championships with a 195.225. The Tigers were on top of the leader board until the final event, the balance beam. After two low scores, the Tigers lost a slim lead to Oklahoma and Iowa State and finished .625 points behind the first-place No. 9 Oklahoma.

Missouri sophomore Sarah Shire won the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year award. Adrianne Perry and Alicia Hatcher each earned spots on the All-Big 12 bars team and Shire and Perry, who won the floor exercise, earned spots on the All-Big 12 beam team.

NCAA Regional Selections will be announced on Monday March 31.
