Members of the MU Taiwanese Student Association transformed Lowry Mall into a bustling Taiwanese Night Market on Wednesday afternoon, presenting free food and a number of activities to passersby. White tents representing the different regions of Taiwan were scattered throughout the mall, and students wearing traditional garb offered samples of various food and drink, such as the spiced eggs and dried tofu of the offshore islands and the pearl milk tea of western Taiwan. Attendees of the event also got a taste of Taiwanese culture by playing a mahjongg matching game and getting personalized nameplates written in Chinese calligraphy. The event was sponsored by the Missouri Students Association and Graduate Professional Council, the International Programming Committee, the Asian Affairs Center and the International Center.
