Columbia police arrested a 32-year-old man Friday night after a shot was fired at a Citadel Drive home in north Columbia.

Brian S. Bromwell was arrested on a felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon and a misdemeanor charge of third-degree domestic assault, according to the Boone County Jail. He is being held at the jail with a $101,000 bond.

Police said no one was injured during the incident.

According to a news release from the Columbia Police Department, officers were working off-duty security in the Auburn Hills subdivision when they heard a shot fired. They then located a disturbance occurring between a man and woman in front of 1600 Citadel Drive.

As the officers approached the scene, they observed the man attempting to conceal a weapon in a car next to him. The officers located the gun in the vehicle, according to the news release.

The man later told officers that he had assaulted the victim, a 32-year-old Columbia woman, prior to firing the shot, according to the news release.

According to Missouri Case.Net, Bromwell was arrested in February 2000 on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to three years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. He had previously been charged with possession of a controlled substance in 1993.
