Austin Robb, 10, plays in the first round of the Guitar Hero Tournament on March 15 at the Blue Note. ā€œI’m really good at hammer-ons and pull-offs,ā€ Robb said.

Families lined up around the block for the second Guitar Hero Tournament on March 15 at the Blue Note.

“They’re doing it on points, kill your points with your star power. ... Accuracy is important, but kill your star power. That’s what’s going to make it.” Matt Robb said to his son Austin while coaching him before his second performance at the Guitar Hero Tournament.

Austin, 10, has been playing Guitar Hero since he was 6 years old. His entourage of supporters included his younger sister, his grandparents and his dad, who cheered for Austin from the edge of the stage.

On a battleground of rock hits through the ages, Austin “Napalm” Robb made it to the second round, but did not score enough points to advance further.

Despite the end of his tournament run, Austin was in good spirits as he rode on his dad’s shoulders, excited to have had the opportunity to compete.
