Former MU pitcher Max Scherzer made his Triple-A debut with the Arizona Sidewinders Monday, allowing just two hits in five scoreless innings of action. He also recorded seven strikeouts, including five consecutive at one point. Scherzer was selected 11th overall by the Diamondbacks in 2006, the highest ever for a Mizzou baseball player. In his three seasons at Mizzou, Scherzer had a 2.30 ERA and struck out 226 batters, while earning Big XII Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2006.
