Missouri gymnastics team to miss out on National Championships

The Missouri gymnastics team finished fourth out of six teams Saturday at the NCAA Central Regional in Baton Rouge, La.

The Missouri gymnastics team finished fourth out of six teams Saturday at the NCAA Central Regional in Baton Rouge, La. Their 195.100 was the lowest score since their opening Big 12 Conference meet against Iowa State on Jan. 18.

The top two teams, LSU (197.625) and Stanford (197.525), qualified for the NCAA National Championships on April 24 in Athens, Ga.

Junior Adrianne Perry had the top all-around score for the Tigers with a 39.300 and qualified for the national championships for the third straight year. Sophomore Sarah Shire finished 11th in the all-around, one position behind the final national qualifying spot with a 38.900.

LSU junior Ashleigh Clare-Kearney 39.825, had the highest all-around score in the country this year with a 39.825, and had a 10.000 on vault.
