Wendy’s on Clark Lane closes, expected to be rebuilt

COLUMBIA — The Wendy’s restaurant on Clark Lane, which was demolished Tuesday, is being rebuilt and is scheduled to re-open in mid-July, according to Janet Caudille, assistant to the director of construction for Wendy’s of Missouri.

Caudille said Wendy’s of Missouri has certain standards for all their franchises and that the store on Clark Lane needed to be brought up to standard.

“It was more cost-effective to build a new store than to remodel the old one,” Caudille said.

Caudille said the company removed equipment from the store on Sunday and Monday, demolished it Tuesday and will begin rebuilding by the middle of next week.

The other Wendy’s location in Columbia, 2116 Bernadette Drive, remains open.
