PrintThe Missouri baseball team lost 22-4 to Oklahoma on Sunday in Norman. Oklahoma’s Spencer Selby went 4-for-4 with seven RBI in the shortened seven-inning contest.
Oklahoma (25-15-1, 4-10-1 Big 12 Conference) recorded season highs for runs and hits (24). Every Sooners starter had at least one hit and eight Oklahoma players had at least one RBI.
The run total tied for the second-most by an Oklahoma team in a Big 12 regular-season game. It was the first time since May 2003 that the Sooners won a conference game shortened by the run rule in regular-season play.
Missouri (28-10, 9-6) had not suffered a run-rule loss since last season. The Tigers allowed the most runs since giving up 23 in a 1998 loss to Bradley. The 22 runs were the most allowed by Missouri in a Big 12 game and was the Tigers worst loss since falling 18-0 to Oklahoma State in 1991.
The Sooners’ Aljay Davis went 4-for-5 with four RBI and Mike Gosse was 4-for-4 with four RBI for the Sooners, who scored in all but one of their six at-bats.
