COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A second suspect in the killing of a Colorado Springs athlete has been arrested in Missouri.

Police in Columbia took 18-year-old Kevin J. Lambert into custody Wednesday in connection with the death of 19-year-old Diontea Jackson-Forrest.

Jackson-Forrest was shot twice in the neck while driving last July. He was a standout running back at Colorado Springs’ Wasson High School before graduating in 2006.

He also played at Western State College in Gunnison, Colo.

A warrant had been issued for Lambert’s arrest last summer, but law enforcement authorities were unable to locate him.

Lambert is being held on $100,000 bond.

Another suspect, Tyrief Reynolds, was arrested last July and charged as an adult.

Reynolds was 17 at the time of the killing.
