COLUMBIA — The Columbia School Board will continue discussion of the 2008-09 budget Thursday. The public may comment.

The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. in the Administration Building, 1818 W. Worley St.

The board is likely to debate proposed cuts and give direction toward finalizing the budget, said district spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark. The law requires that a written budget be submitted by June, Baumstark said.

“Until they give us a firm consensus, we cannot put a budget together,” Assistant Superintendent Lynn Barnett said.
