COLUMBIA — The Central Missouri Humane Society will be kicking off Be Kind to Animals Week with a “Hound Dog Homecoming” on Sunday.

The event, which will go from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Central Missouri Humane Society, 616 Big Bear Blvd., offers fun and games for both people and pets.

Activities, which are $1 each, include “musical sit,” bobbing for hot dogs, and pictures with your pet. There will be contests for the pets throughout the event, including a “best dressed” contest, a shedding competition and a “best trick” competition.

In addition, a hot dog lunch for people will be provided for $3.

Everyone is invited, and pets are asked to be brought on a 6-foot leash.
