PrintCOLUMBIA — An unidentified woman, whose body was found near the Mokane River, died between three to 30 days before she was found, according to new information released by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department. She also might have had long term immobilization, but had once been able to walk, according to a forensic anthropologist’s report.
At about 3:50 p.m. on April 20, a reserve deputy searching for mushrooms found the body near the river access. Investigators ran her fingerprints through the national fingerprint identification system and ruled that she was not Jasmine Haslag, who was last seen June 17, 2007. Haslag’s car was found abandoned on June 20 in Callaway County.
The FBI also confirmed that the fingerprints are not Haslag’s.
A forensic anthropologist has determined the body is of a white female, between 30 to 50 years old, between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, and 90 to 120 pounds, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators request that anyone with information call the Sheriff’s Department at 641-7291.
