COLUMBIA — Boone County deputies arrested a Miami man outside his residence in Wagon Wheel Trailer Park north of Columbia on Tuesday evening for a Florida warrant for first-degree murder.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department began investigating Quentin Tyrone Madison, 31, after neighbors filed a robbery report for Madison’s home on April 16, according to Maj. Tom Reddin. Neighbors reported that they saw several people approach and enter Madison’s residence on several occasions. After responding to the report, deputies found cash had been taken and evidence of drug involvement, prompting a further investigation.
At the time of the robbery, Madison did not provide local deputies with his actual name and information but rather an alias he had also used after he was arrested in Kansas City in early April, according to the news release. Kansas City and Miami authorities provided pictures of the person whose alias Madison was using to the Sheriff’s Department, but Boone County deputies determined the photos of the man did not match Madison’s appearance, according to the a release.
Kansas City authorities were later able to link the false identification information given to Madison. Fingerprints and tattoo information from Florida authorities later confirmed the robbery victim was Madison, according to Reddin.
Madison had a Florida warrant for a first-degree murder charge for a homicide that took place in Miami in 2001, according to the release. Florida authorities have been notified by the Sheriff’s Department. Madison remains in Boone County Jail without bond.
