COLUMBIA — A bathroom caught fire during a domestic disturbance early Thursday morning at a residence east of Columbia.

About 3:55 a.m., Boone County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Demaret Drive. The fire had already been extinguished when authorities arrived.

The fire, which was started with the bathroom curtains, caused minor damaged to the bathroom wall and ceiling, said Boone County Sheriff’s Maj. Tom Reddin.

Two men at the apartment told investigators that a woman set the fire, but their story has changed at least twice, Reddin said. Authorities do not know who set the fire.
