Sheriff’s deputies think three burglaries in Midway area are related

COLUMBIA — On Wednesday, Boone County Sheriff’s deputies were investigating three Midway-area burglaries, which they believe to be related, Maj. Tom Reddin said.

Belongings, including several thousand dollars in jewelry, credit cards and a gun, were taken from three houses on Locust Grove Church Road near Hatton Chapel Road between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday, deputies said. The suspect forced entry through a door before rummaging through each house.

The burglaries are believed to be related because of the proximity and close time frame, Reddin said.

It’s also possible more burglaries will be reported in the area as people arrive home from work, Reddin said. Other residences in the area were checked for possible burglary, he said, but there still could have been others.

No suspect has been identified, deputies said.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS, or to speak with a deputy by calling 442-6131.
