The Columbia College softball team ended its 2008 season Saturday at the NAIA Softball National Championships in Decatur, Ala.

The Cougars defeated perennial powerhouse and defending national champion Oklahoma City University 4-2 and finished with a 3-1 win over Walsh (Ohio) College.

Columbia College’s two wins were not enough to advance the Cougars out of pool play. The University of Mobile and Simon Fraser University will advance from pool C into bracket play today with 3-1 records.

Columbia College finishes the season at 42-12.
