A 28-year-old man led a Boone County Sheriff’s Department deputy on a car chase early this morning.

At roughly 3:30 a.m., the deputy attempted to stop a swerving vehicle at the U.S. 63-Interstate 70 interchange, but the driver did not stop and a chase ensued, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department.

The driver, Aaron C. White, eventually stopped his vehicle at the intersection of Country Side Lane and Quail Drive and ran from police on foot.

Wright was arrested in the 2500 block of Quail Drive on one count of resisting arrest, one count of careless and imprudent driving, one count of failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and for an outstanding domestic assault warrant, the release said.

Wright was being held at the Boone County Jail on a $5,500 bond.
