COLUMBIA — An Ashland man was arrested on suspicion of second degree assault and armed criminal action early Sunday morning, according to a press release from the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

About 1:02 a.m. Sunday on the 4100 block of East Snowy Hills Lane, someone struck a victim on the head with a vodka bottle after being asked to leave the victim’s residence, the release said. The victim was taken to an area hospital.

Deputies located Trenton Faulkner, 19, at his residence and took him into custody with a bond set at $4,500 for an assault charge, according to the release.

A representative from the Boone County Jail said a judge later set Faulkner’s bail at $40,000 for the armed criminal action charge. As of noon Sunday, the suspect was still in custody at the Boone County Jail.
