Columbia man arrested on suspicion of cocaine trafficking

COLUMBIA — A Columbia man was arrested on suspicion of cocaine trafficking after Columbia Police and agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency found about one pound of cocaine during a search Wednesday evening, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.

Russell S. Kuda, 34, of Columbia was arrested on suspicion of second-degree drug trafficking of cocaine and possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana, according to the news release.

At 7:01 p.m., Columbia police and DEA agents served a search warrant at a home located at 108 Coventry Court. Officers encountered two men inside the home. Upon searching the home, officers seized 490 grams of powder cocaine, a .357 caliber Ruger revolver and under 35 grams of marijuana, according to the news release.

A 2004 Chevy truck, a 1969 Camaro and a 2002 Easyrider custom motorcycle were also seized in the search.

The joint investigation is ongoing.
