COLUMBIA — Investigators with the Columbia Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit have identified Denico S. Crawley, 21, as the suspect in the shooting of a 28-year-old female and a 27-year-old male, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

The suspect remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous, the release said, and police said they have cause to arrest him.

The release described the suspect as a black male with a thin build. He is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall.

A warrant request for two counts of armed criminal action and two counts of first degree assault will be submitted.

According to Missouri Case.net, Crawley has previously served time for assault, drug and sexual misconduct-related charges.

Police officers responded to a report of shots being fired on the 300 block of Sanford Avenue on Tuesday. The two victims said they were talking with some other people when a black male approached their car and fired three shots.
