Home on Sonora Drive burglarized Saturday afternoon

COLUMBIA — Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a burglary that occurred around 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of Sonora Drive, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the release, the homeowner returned from an errand and found several items missing from his home, including two gaming systems, a semi-automatic rifle and a small-caliber pistol. Deputies determined the suspect had entered the home by forcing open a small window, according to the release.

Witnesses said they had seen a gold-colored passenger vehicle in the area at the time, according to the release.
