Friday’s rainstorm causes water to spill over the creek onto part of the MKT trail at Stewart and Providence roads.

COLUMBIA — A flash flood watch for Boone County has been canceled after nearly an inch of rain was recorded at Columbia Regional Airport on Friday, according to the National Weather Service Web site.

The thunderstorm activity is predicted to end over Boone County by 1 a.m. Saturday. Storms will be ending over Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois on Friday evening, the service said, but some river flooding is occurring along parts of the Mississippi, Missouri and Illinois Rivers.

Saturday is expected to be mostly clear and sunny.

Thunderstorms may continue Sunday and Monday nights.
