COLUMBIA — At 10 p.m. Friday, Boone County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a disturbance at Demaret Drive, a release from the department said.
A 25-year-old woman told police that she had been assaulted by a man she knew. She said a 28-year-old man threw her to the ground during an argument, according to a news release. He then grabbed her purse from her vehicle, she told the Sheriff's Department. When she attempted to get her purse back, the strap broke and the man managed to take the purse, she also told the Sheriff's Department.
The report said the man then drove away from the scene. Deputies later arrested him. He was charged with one count of second-degree robbery and one count of domestic assault in the third degree, the release said.
His bond was set at $41,000.
