Tour of Missouri bicycle race adds extra day of competition

ST. LOUIS — The second Tour of Missouri bicycle race adds an extra day of competition and more hills.
Last year’s winner of the event’s first and last stages unveiled the changes Monday.

Ivan Dominguez says the new course will make the race tougher. The weeklong race is set for Sept. 8-14.
The likelihood of participation from Olympic medalists of the Beijing Games adds to the event’s profile. A field of 120 world class cyclists from 15 teams will participate, with riders from more than 25 countries represented.
