INDEPENDENCE — Barack Obama has scheduled a campaign stop in Missouri on Monday.

The Democratic presidential hopeful is expected to visit the Truman Memorial Building in Independence.

The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 9 a.m.

The Illinois senator has made several state trips lately. He stopped in St. Louis on June 10 and talked to blue collar workers in Cape Girardeau in May.

His campaign has said the state was a battleground in the primaries and they expect it to be a battleground in the general election.
