COLUMBIA — The owners of Athena Night Club gave up the fight to conduct business in Columbia.

In a fax to Columbia Finance Director Lori Fleming dated June 25, club owners Daniel Veros and Rashid Kikhia withdrew their appeal to save their business licenses.

A series of high-profile violent incidents led to the official revocation last month.

On May 28, Veros and Kikhia appealed the revocation of the licenses for Athena Night Club, New York Famous Pizza and Nikai Grill, all located at 1101 Locust St.

During the same week, the owners of the night club placed the property on the market for sale or lease.

As of Friday, the property was still on the market, said Plaza Real Estate agent Travis Kempf, who is handling the sale of the property.
