MAYSVILLE — Two men are charged with arson for a fire that burned down a northwest Missouri newspaper building.
The DeKalb County Prosecuting Attorney's Office on Thursday charged 19-year-old Kevin Brumley of Maysville, and 18-year-old Wesley Leverenz from California.
The St. Joseph News-Press reported there were no injuries from the fire at the DeKalb County Record-Herald early Thursday.
KMBC-TV in Kansas city reported on its Web site that police said the two men set off an explosion on the front porch of the building at about 1 a.m. The fire spread quickly after that.
Publisher Terry Pearl said he would rebuild. Arrangements were being made to publish this week's edition in King City.
Brumley and Leverenz are being held at the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail in Pattonsburg on $500,000 cash bonds.
