COLUMBIA — A 68-year-old man suffered head and leg injuries in an accident near the intersection of Providence and Sexton roads Thursday morning.
William B. Easley of Columbia crashed his moped into the front tire of a pickup truck while turning right on Providence Road from Sexton Road, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.
Easley was ejected from his vehicle and taken to a local hospital. Easley did not have a valid driver's license and was not properly wearing his helmet, the release stated.
A passenger in the pickup truck, 68-year-old Gladys Skaggs of Columbia, suffered a minor arm injury, the release stated. The driver, 45-year-old Vicki Calvert of Clark, and a 15-year-old passenger were not injured.
