Woman accused of having sex with 15-year-old boy

COLUMBIA — A Columbia woman was accused Tuesday of having sex with a 15-year-old boy in her residence earlier this month.

Angela M. Trouten, 31, of 1323 S. Roseta Ave., was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of second-degree statutory rape.

Authorities were contacted and an investigation began Tuesday morning, said Maj. Tom Reddin from the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

Reddin said he could not release the name of the person who contacted law enforcement.

Reddin said the allegations are that Trouten had sex with the boy “multiple times” in her residence, starting earlier this month. He did not know the number of times the incident occurred, but said there were “differing allegations.”

Reddin said Trouten and the boy knew each other before the incident.

“Ms. Trouten and the victim are known to each other as Ms. Trouten’s kids know this young man,” Reddin said. “He has been to their home with her kids prior to the incident.”

Reddin said Trouten has two children but did not know their ages.

Trouten was released from Boone County Jail at 6:33 p.m. Tuesday on a $4,500 bond.
