Suspect in home invasion robbery turns himself in

COLUMBIA — A suspect in a home invasion in March turned himself in to the Columbia Police Department on Friday, according to a news release.

Adrien Lewon Wright, 18, turned himself in at 3 p.m., the release said.

On March 4, two men entered an apartment in the 2400 block of West Broadway at about 9:20 and left with a box containing an undisclosed amount of money.

In March, Sgt. Barbara Buck said the men came in through an unlocked door and one of them carried a large-caliber handgun. Inside the apartment were two 17-year-old girls, a 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old man. The witnesses reported hearing a shot fired after the suspects left, but no one was injured.

Police had a warrant for Wright’s arrest in connection with the robbery. His bond has been set at $75,000, according to the release.

Police Sgt. Chris Kelley said he had no information to release at this point regarding the second suspect.

Police ask that anyone with information about the incident should submit a tip on the CrimeStoppers Web site, 875tips.com, for a reward of up to $1,500 if the information leads to an arrest.
