COLUMBIA — Flooding from the latest round of heavy rain had closed at least eight county roads and several state roads in Boone County by midday Friday. Rain had come to an end across the area by midday, but the National Weather Service said that flooding was expected to continue through the afternoon.

A flood warning was posted for Boone County until 8 p.m. A flash flood watch was also in effect through Saturday morning.

The Joint Communications Center early this afternoon reported eight county roads closed due to flooding.
