JEFFERSON CITY - Police say an 18-month-old boy who was taken from his crib in a suburban Kansas City home is safe.

Police say Kenyon Brock was found and his alleged abductors were in custody in Jefferson City Tuesday. Four hours earlier he was allegedly taken by his noncustodial mother and two other people from the Independence home of his grandmother.

Police issued an Amber Alert.

A Jefferson City radio station said it aired an Associated Press story about the Amber Alert during its 7:50 a.m. newscast. KTXY-FM News Director Shellie Tucker said moments later, a motorist called to report that she was behind the car bearing the license plate included in the alert and that she had already called 911.

Police said the boy's mother, Kassi Elliott, another teenage girl and a man involved in the abduction were taken into custody around 8:30 a.m.
