COLUMBIA - A vehicle crashed into the Petro Mart at 3850 Range Line St. just after 10 a.m. Thursday, a Columbia Fire Department news release said.

The car hit the front of the store and caused significant damage, including damage to the wall and broken glass, the release said. The damage is estimated at $25,000 to $30,000.

The incident resulted in no injuries, the release said.

The driver told investigators she was trying to park in a marked space when she accidentally pressed the accelerator rather than the brake pedal, the release said.

Petro Mart was closed temporarily while the store was cleaned. After a representative from theCity of Columbia Protective Inspections evaluated the building, it was determined structurally secure, and the business reopened at 3 p.m.
